Leaves!

WE HAVE LEAVES ! It is very exciting. I thought I would never see then again. Last Saturday I was telling Tony that I missed leaves and the green of spring. I wake up on Sunday and there it was....GREEN. We have little baby leaves on all the trees. The mountains are green with tips of snow on top of them. It is melting fast. No flowers just yet, but we have them in the stores now and I smell them all! I hope to start planting this next week.We have had 60-70 degree temps and it is so hot.We were all sweating and complaining about the heat this last weekend.I know...what heat? 70 degrees is hot for us. How we will ever do above that I do not know and don't want to find out.We have no air conditioning here in Alaska, but I have it in my truck. We got in and turned it up!
The light has started to stay.We have bright sunlight until about 10:30 and dust at midnight. The mosquitoes are HUGE and back in force.Was hoping to have that come a little slower.
Work is busy and seems like we don't have enough time in the day to just relax.Tony's job is getting busier with all the thaw and he will be leaving more.Dad will be here on Tuesday and the fishing begins.I REALLY want to beat these guys at the fishing game.I want the biggest fish so I brag for the whole year because we know the fish stories these guys can tell.
Cinco de'mayo was celebrated with friends at a local Mexican restaurant and the restaurant up the street (also a Mexican restaurant)decided to have a mariachi band play until the wee hours of the AM.Lucky us, we are less then 1 block from the action and got to enjoy it in our sleep.
