A crazy week...

This past week has been a challenge. We are all trying to adjust to Dad being here. Don't get me wrong, I love my father and am glad he can be here to fish, but it has really been harder then I thought.Tuesday the dogs got out.The gate got left open by accident and the dogs went running. Barkley was gone for 6 hours before we found him. Nanook was hit, or I should say "Ran" into a car. He was very scared and ran right into it. He has fractured two teeth and he has several scrapes. How he lived we don't know, we are just glad he is alive. We found Barkley at a neighbors and he was bouncy as ever."Just out on an adventure mom"...NaNa is not the same dog. He is very reserved and scared of everything. He does not smile as much and I don't remember the last time he barked at me when he was upset. He still lays on the floor with a hollow look. I hope he will bounce back soon. With all those events, it was hard to watch American Idol.I have really liked this year and it is because of Adam. He is awesome and I have my opinions on why Kris won, but I will keep them to myself. They are both very talented and they will do great. I called Adam from the first night I saw him.I had a couple other picks as well, but Adam had such a "Wow" factor. We had an office wedding on Friday and we all enjoyed ourselves. He were at a huge park in Anchorage called Kincaid Park. It was out on the point of the ocean and with the cool breeze you could smell the saltwater.I went of a ride earlier in the week on my bike. I rode by the inlet and really loved the smells and views. It was great. 120 miles in one night and my butt paid for it later. I will ride into work as much as I can now since my riding time is so short. Quality not quantity.
Memorial week end is calm. The guys are fishing and don't seem to be catching much. It's early. I stay home in the silence. It is bliss! I stayed home and watched lifetime TV today and learned how to commit the perfect murder of my husbands cousins aunt's brother for the insurance money. We our building clamming guns and may do some clamming soon. We have allot of razor clams. I again will not eat them, but will catch them. The weather is holding very nice and I hope it stays that way.
We went out to the city market last weekend and it was great except for one thing....The tourists. They are everywhere. I was approached by one and she asked me if I lived here (Alaska)I said yes and she got very excited. She started asking me questions as if I was a rare find. I felt like I should have been in national geographic. Did I live here all year, does it get cold, what did I wear and where did I live.I should have made her pay for all the information. That's it, I will put on all my Alaska gear and just sit downtown for them to talk to me. I will charge admission into my "Homeless" tent on the park grass and tell them scary Alaska stories. Perhaps I will cue a moose or bear to walk by. I will wear all my wild animal fur and black out my teeth to look real. Freaky people.I can't wait for it to snow!
Love to you all!
